Who We Are (required reading)
Over 5 years ago, Cowboy the Gold started We Sell A Tasty Life to bring you the best Underground music from Japan. This podcast was determined subversive by North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il, and Cowboy soon found himself on the run. Moving from city to city, Tasty Life truly became a pirate broadcast. Living as an outlaw, Cowboy still kept his finger on the pulse of Japanese Underground music and every week brought the listeners undeniably excellent music from the island nation.
Podcasts were recorded in Cambridge, Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City, Caracas, Mogadishu and many, many other places while Cowboy was on the run from the North Korean RDEI. But it was in the city of Cuidad Juarez that he met Sol de la Noche, a lady who drinks like she fights and the foremost expert on Japanese music of all genres. The two great minds knew they had no choice but band together.
Ducking the crafty agents of the RDEI, Cowboy and Sol were able to continue the podcast for 2 more years. On Feburary 24, 2010, the pair had scheduled a meeting with a Japanese Agent to procure a copy of the rare vinyl “Bright Young Museum Workers”. This turned out to be a trap! Cowboy the Gold and Sol de la Noche were now in the hands of Kim Jing-Il.
Now, with their freedom won, the two have hid away deep in the mountains of Suzuka with their bodyguards, the Suzuka Chainsaw Mountain Girls.
They are the experts of Japanese Underground music. This is their time. This is how it is done. This is Real Underground Radio from Japan.
